Our Founder began his quest for superior Cannabis genetics beginning on Maui in 1977. Those were the days of marijuana prohibition, and this rebel grower integrated with the local Maui weed producers. The legendary and famous “Maui Wowie” was produced on Maui in the 1960s and 1970s, smuggled throughout the world to gain fame. Steeped in the marijuana guerrilla grow style of the time, wisdom was gained in terms of effective methods to hide crops from the military-style “Green Harvest” marijuana eradication efforts. Hawaii was deemed a “High-intensity drug production zone”, so military searches became intense. The founder kept many strains in freezer storage as he gained a formal education and started to provide medical services. To Cannabis patients, becoming one of the first providers to certify MedicalMarijuana patients in Hawaii in 2001. In this central and very respected position many patients from all over the state of Hawaii (and abroad) gifted the key generator of this seed bank many strains/cultivars. As such he started to dabble in breeding rather than production of weed for the illegal market as before. Newer (and some older strains preserved by patients) and the freezer-preserved pre-Green Harvest varieties were combined to make amazing lineages. he developed a highly-specialized variety of Heirloom and Heirloom/Modern hybrid strains.
