This remarkable and emblematic Kona cultivar is a unique cross of two separate Kona strains. The Black Dog is reportedly a stable Blackberry/Kush crossed with SkunkDawg. the Thai is a 1970s era pure sativa. This combination has yielded fairly stable and predictable phenotypes in its seedlings. The plants begin with barely any dark coloration, and yet the buds themselves mature into a rich dark color that is not in the family of the “Purps”, or purple varieties. The finished bud has a tri-color of black, orange, and green. The high is intense and euphoric. This strain has been bred to be grown outdoors in Kona, at the middle elevations. Hence, your ideal location would be either completely indoor or in a hot, dry climate with consistent rainfall.
